We are actively investigating the network flooding error, which has been reported by several users. I would investigate it myself, but it appears to only happen with certain routers.
There are various patches from XBMC that we are waiting to be pulled into PHT so that we can merge them. Specifically, I'm excited for some OMX patches.
Much of my time has been spent on my actual job lately (we are doing a big release), so I want to extend a special thank you to a_wein for all of his hard work!
Most of my time working on RasPlex lately has been to prepare for the Beta launch, which is one week from today ( Pi day - March 14th).
We will be making 3D printed rasplex cases, which I think are better than any RPi case out there, to be available within a few weeks. They will come with an IR receiver, rerouted power (so the power input is on the same side as the ethernet and USB), and even an on/off switch! There will be VESA mounting plates (75mm, 100mm), as well as a set top box plate (feet instead of VESA arms). I'm still trying to figure out the cost, but I'm hoping that we can sell them for around $20 (very slim profit margin, we want to keep them cheap. All profits go to supporting the RasPlex project). Here is a teaser picture http://blog.srvthe.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/premiumrplex.jpg of the first prototype.
Stay tuned to rasplex.com - which will be the new project home starting March 14th.
We will be retiring the S3 mirrors, and exclusively hosting off of sourceforge. I don't expect this will be a problem for anyone, and it saves us a fair bit of money.
We have a new update that's going through some testing before we push it out, 0.1.30. It has some pretty major fixes (including, apparently, killing the BSOD!), as well as an update dialog to make manual updating simpler.
If you haven't already, you should check out our brand new GUI installers! http://rasplex.com/get-started/rasplex-installers.html
Hey folks,
An update on the case:
We have the design done. We are waiting on final confirmations from the injection molding company, but at this point we are ready to go and have some good enough quotes to move forward.
The Kickstarter campaign is almost ready to be launched, we are just waiting on the video. I will be prodding the volunteer who is helping with it to get it done in short order so that we can launch the campaign asap.
Lots of people asking about this, I want to get it up within a week - as soon as we can get the video really.
Thanks for your patience everyone!
Hey folks,
as you all may have noticed, the RasPlex development slowed down over the last weeks...
We are currently planning a big cleanup to be able to start over again.
You should use the more stable builds 0.1.36 and 0.1.37 until we've finished our cleanup and are ready for a new release (Please do not upgrade to 0.1.38 or 0.1.39)
All interested developers and testers should take a look at our new development home too: https://github.com/RasPlex
Stay tuned!
We are moving all bug reports and issue tracking to github issues.
Please do not use the trello anymore.
