Done and done. Awesome work. Site looks amazing! Don't forget to post here http://www.reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi

Maybe creating a video with the latest GUI and a demo to add at the home? Or more specifications about the features and the roadmap (expected features). Love your work!

#5

Great job Dale :) Ill go spread the word around everywhere.

#6

I had wanted a video, but my video production friend was busy : (

There will be one soon. Same w/ roadmap.

Done.  I've also sent a tip to engadget.com.  Others should do it too!  There's a little tip button in the upper right.  They've posted stories about new Plex releases and features in the past.

Thanks everyone!

Anything we can do to help go viral would be awesome for the project.

I call upon everyone to spam, spam, spam galore!

This is the best way for non-devs to help out :)

Engadget just posted news of rasplex.com and now it seems down. Coincidence?

Scaling up now

Rasplex.com is down for me now, I guess all of the traffic going there is a good thing! :)

3:00pm eastern standard time...still no home page. You must really be getting slammed. I did eventually get the case page. Very nice.

#14

We're back (scaled up EC2 instance)

Maximumpc.com ran an article on XBMC vs. PLEX that is linked off thier front page. They mentioned the XBMC RPi client, but not RasPlex. I think that is because it was from their December print article. I threw a comment on the article pointing out your work and pointed them to rasplex.com.

while the homepage is artfully put together, it is full of lies, you need to remove your section stating that RasPlex is better then RaspBmc.  Right now it just is not.  rasPlex fails as a media center for the simpler fact it can not play media.  If it can not play movies, what good is it?

Worthless, at least XMBC with its ugly UI, works and plays back 100% of my media while rasplex plays zero.

Actually, I'd criticise it for not being consistent, and for not having a very good schedule, not for not playing media. It plays most, but not all, things on my installation of Rasplex.

What drives me nuts is that Rasplex took off like gangbusters, but now seems to be locked in the doldrums. Things just don't seem to be happening at the same enthuastic pace that they were last spring/winter. I started off following the Rasplex approach, and installed it. I'm beginning to wonder if I made a mistake.

Examples: we were told cases would be available in May. We've gone through May, June, July, and most of August. There are still no cases. Rasplex itself hasn't had an update in a month and a half. A few months ago, updates were every few days. Is the fire gone?

on the RasPlex facebook page Dale stated that cases will launch September 1st on Kickstarter and that RasPlex is down to one developer at the moment.  He said there should be a large update soon...but didn't specify when...just that things are in the works.
