Thanks for the work.

I was asking myself exactly the same thing.
Dale seems to update the Rasplex Facebook page more than updates on here.
1-2 weeks ago he said that a major update is in the works and will be ready "soon".
Rasplex is down to one active developer so things aren't moving forward as fast.
thats all I know
This found on Facebook is good news. It seems like our patience will be rewarded soon:Rasplex Just confirming some of the rewards should be this week
I think he's referring to the Kickstarter rewards for those who invest in the case project.
This appears to be a month old almost. And it relates only the the Pi case. Nothing about development unless I am missing something, since I am not actually logged into Facebook at the moment.
The sentence I'm refering to is only a day old. It might ne related to case project...wich anyway most probabbly confirms the project is still alive.
I've been wondering the same things. There have been too many open source projects that went great guns for a time, then disappeared without fanfare. No updates in a couple of months, and "Rasplex is down to one active developer" don't sound promising.
This could mean everyone was too busy to devote time to Rasplex; it could mean a falling out of personnel on objectives, or many other things. People will start drifting away, if updates don't start happening soon.
It wonder if the kickstarter for cases may not be in some way tied to funding for Blender.
He also said "Also expect a release with a number of bug fixes to follow it shortly, possibly this weekend."
Being wrong about something like this is a good thing. I'd like to see rasplex continue. But their track record so far, especially in the instance of the cases, gives one reason to wonder. Here's hoping we see that update this weekend.
But I'm not holding my breath.....
Actually i coulden’t Care less about the case, i would rather ser the time spend on rasplex.
Same for me :-)
If you care about Rasplex then you could buy the case to support Dale/rasplex.
Better yet, donate money to Dale directly.. He's doing this in his spare time totally free of charge.

+1
i have donated and will probably buy a case exactly for this reason.

I agree. It would be better if the two projects were divorced.
The case could be used on a pi doing most anything. As it is, the extreme lateness of the case reflects negatively on Rasplex.
I won't fault the guys for wanting to find a practical way to help fund the project, but I tend to agree that the case is a distraction, especially when there are a bunch of other cases on the market, or coming onto the market.
I'd rather pay for, say, a premium RPi optimized theme, or something more along the line of the PlexPass route (early access, etc.).
Dude just tweeted within the last hour that his campaign has been submitted to Kickstarter and is awaiting their approval.
If this speeds up RasPlex development, then so be it. Unlike a donation, I'll at least get something for it.
The case should not affect the project. I'm happy to support the project and already did.
The business regarding the case should be a separate project.
At the end of the day this is still a project someone is volunteering to do free of any charge, if they choose to focus on something other than Rasplex then that's their business. Make a poll to gauge, write up an article/review, post it to Reddit, etc... anything that might gauge interest for Rasplex. Spreading the good word about a project such as this is usually a good way of saying thank you and most likely provide additional motivation to the developer(s) :)

Look at it this way. The case and Rasplex take time, add the fact that people have their lives to attend to besides these things. I think the developer is doing an awesome job being able to release a case in addition to launching Rasplex for the Pi. This is obviously something he cares passionately about, or he wouldn't be doing it? Of course I may be wrong, though that's my hunch... B)
