Rasplex on Rasperry Pi 2 - powersupply via TV or power adapter?

Hey,
got a question, i can plug the powersupply of my rpi2 into my tv, it works fine.

1xt question: is it a problem for rasplex when the tv cuts the power for the rpi2 when i turn off the tv?

2nd question: when i use an external power supply: the rasplex turns off the rpi2 after x hours, but how does it get turned on again? When i turn on my tv, the rpi2 doesn’t get powered on too, did i miss something or is it not possible to turn the rpi2 on automaticaly via the hdmi cable?

  1. yes, not a good idea, will corrupt sd card.

ok, what’s the solution? just keep it running?

If you prefer to power your RPi2 down, you can look at the RemotePi from MSL Digital, allows you to use a button on your remote to power the RPi2 on and trigger a shutdown script to turn it off.

I usually just leave mine running though.
