Hello!
So, we’re going for a digital signage solution using Plex (Windows Server 2012 R2), and Rasplex (on Raspberry Pi 2 devices) clients.
I came up with a solution to control the clients with the iOS app, which does the job perfectly. But, we’ve discovered that anyone on the same network (a VLAN in this case) with the Plex app on their iOS device can then connect to the Rasplex clients, and remote control that client without having to input any kind of credentials.
Any ideas how we can get round this? I don’t need to have control of the clients from a device such as a smartphone or tablet, but I’d like to have some form of control. I gather I can control the clients from a web interface, but I can’t find a way to access it. It’d also be cool to control the clients from the server, but again, I can’t see a way to do that.
If I can’t remote control the clients, then I’ve set Plex to manually update the library every 15 minutes (the files aren’t stored locally on the server, so automatic updating didn’t work that well), and people can just drop files into the relevant folder for a particular client.
So, any suggestions?
