RasPlex Screenshots and Videos

Lots of people wanted this, so here's a thread for it.

Here's my own video demonstrating massive GUI speedups in .27

Here's another one on 256MB board http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2d4c8JIT0E

Very smooth, looks like the development is going well :)

Time to tweak my storage, an SSD for the cached readily served information, and HDD array for my data.
With the Rasplex Media Server I'll be able to access my Media Archive from many devices, my main hope is for DLNA to work through my Xbox 360.

P.S. thanks for writing this in python

It's not written in python... it's the desktop client which is mostly c++

Allright guys, after a couple days of code digging and optimization seeking, here is a sneak preview of what next release should look like.

I wanna keep the tease factor up ! :P

Sorry for the video shakyness, made that quickly with iPhone in one hand and keyboard in the other :D

This video was made after 5 minutes of caching on movies section, Series section was not cached at all.

The RPi is a 512 B Model and it's running over Wifi on a DLINK DWA-121 USB adapter.

Hi

Probably late on posting as lots of things have probably been done here,

i would love to know what sort of remote control unit are u using in the raspberry unit, does it come with the IRDA conector via USB ?

also for live tv i would recommend u checking out the Dreamplex plugin section, where u can actually use a Linux STB enigma2 firmware box either DVB-C, DVB-T, or DVB-S in order to stream your Live TV contens being broadcasted and re-stream those from your Linux Enigma2 set top box straight in to your PMServer , then from the PMServer re-stream it via the WEB or LAN to the other devices connected via Myplex or simply logged on the internal LAN via DLNA.

PS- Personally in my case i use the Dreamplex plugin modified in order to work with a linux DVB-S/s2 QuadTunner pci-e 1x Card under another linux ubuntu machine, that way i can actually Stream 4 Transponders with lots of channels, and watch one , whilst recording another chann on a different transponder..

Personally i think it would actualy be a good idea to implement some sort of DVB.api support on the Plex server side of things, as most of the other media servers are now starting to implement some sort of DVB api.

I would recommend something or maybe just a plugin function to hook up Plex server into the TvHeadend aplication available for linux more info on TVHeadEnd project for linux here

https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend

My sample unit it´s arriving here monday so i will start doing some work on the Rasplex soon further testing also

i find with a big library the interface on rasplex becomes really slow

Is there any way I can install Plex on a Pi computer instead of a Windows PC?

As a client "Rasplex" is what you need to google for.

As a server, no way.

Pi version has no updates in over a year?

Rasplex had received a number of updates this year, last one - 1.0.1 - was on 1 December 2015, don’t really understand what you mean
