I just upgraded my old RPI2b to the new 3 model and just transfered my old memorycard to the new one but I’m having some strange problem. The pi is connected to my Sony STR-DN1040 with HDMI and it’s been working flawless for 2 years until now.
First off it started shutting down the receiver about 10s into a movie or episode now and then but I think I got that fixed by turning off everything that had with CEC to do but I still have one problem left. When I turn off my TV and the SONY I leave rasplex running but it sounds like it’s trying to turn on my receiver. It clicks like it’s turning on but then it turns off again before anything else happens, over and over again!
I recently bought a new (used) Arcam AVR600 and had the same experience that the amp was rebooting constantly with the Pi3 connected (not with a B+).
I disabled CEC on the Pi and that has seemed to stop the reboots of the amp.
interestingly though, I contacted Arcam to see if they had any ideas, and the only thought they had is that the HDMI from the Pi is giving too much voltage and the amp protection circuits is kicking in.
