Not sure if it’s something on my end, but I just reinstalled my OS and created a new plex server. Before adding the libraries, I go to agents and change the ‘Ratings Source’ for the settings of ‘Plex Movie (Legacy)’. I set this to IMDB.
This has always worked in the past as long as I changed this setting before creating a new library.
No matter what I seem to try, the ratings on the movies show up as Rotten Tomatoes.
I have tried doing a clean install of plex a couple times including deleting the plexmediaserver folder in /var/lib but to no avail.
Is that library of yours using the “Plex Movie (legacy)” agent?
Best double-check in the advanced settings of that particular library (via ... > Manage Library > Edit...).
If your library is set to use the non-legacy version of Plex Movie, you should see the Ratings Source further down in the advanced settings.
Keep in mind… changing the parameter will only apply to future additions. You need to refresh the metadata for this to take effect on previously added items.
Thanks! I realize now that modifying the Agent settings for the new scanner is not available via the Server settings and only through each library setting. Probably something they will fix later?
I understood that the mix of per-library and per-agent settings was causing quite some confusion in the past. Therefore having the settings on the library only is supposedly the new intended approach.
