Hello,
I created an user for my child. I see that I can choose restriction (e.g. PG-8, PG etc…)
But all my movies are not well configured for rate restrictions.
What I need is to ACCEPT ALL but not PG16 and PG18 for example.
So today, Plex works conversely by the other way: I must write ALL PG for my kids and so many tomes I forget lot of rates (and some rates are not well configured).
It seems easier to NOT ACCEPT some movies (I know the movies that my child is not authorized to view, few ones only). It could be a new option: “Accept all movies except: …” ?
Thank you for your all of your great work.
Hope you can see if you could satisfy this issue.
Best regards,
So far this is only a whitelist and what you want to achieve is not possible. I agree though that in this case it would be easier to exclude adult content. But still, this would require your library having properly set ratings. So either way, this is what you should take care of. And if you do (or let the moviedb do it), adding ~3-5 ratings is not such a big deal.
Btw: with a whitelist-based system you avoid that your kids see films that do not have a rating at all which might be unsuitable for them.
Dear Coxeroni,
I do agree with you and it is what I try to do actually.
I can find more than 30 different rates (French/US…), and some movies do not have rates.
With more than 2,500 movies, I know few of them for >16y, it could be so easy.
Maybe (and hope) it could be a new option in the future.
Thank you for your kind reply.
Well this probably depends on your movies, but for mine 99 % of the ratings were already set with the meta-data automatically and there was no input needed from my side. Only one (german) movie I have does not contain a rating. But as I said, probably depends on the movie and its entry in the moviedatabase.
