I have a scenario for the gang and I’d be very interested if anyone has come across this and or solved it.
I have a pay tv box in my main lounge room.
I have done the HDMI splitter over Ethernet and sent it to an additional room. It’s clunky and I personally didn’t really like the added double wiring on top of my existing data network.
I was really happy when I got my HD Homerun and began broadcasting FTA TV on Plex.
It made sharing FTA TV so much easier across the household and I avoided having to run coaxial cable to each TV room/modifying walls.
So I began thinking, would there be way to simply re-broadcast my current pay TV channel across the network on Plex.
I know there are the challenges of changing channels etc however I’m sure with a Bluetooth remote it will have enough range to get around that.
I’d simply like to share the HDMI output of the box and broadcast the via Plex.
It just means when the sports are on we can watch on multiple TVs sharing the same stream.
Would love to know if anyone has thought of this, came up with a solution even if it’s not via Plex?
