I’ve done plenty of research on moving my plex server, that part seems pretty clear to me. What isn’t clear, is after a migration, will I have to re-invite all of my users? I’d like to avoid having to do that if possible, and if it is possible, does shutting down the old server and naming the new one with the same name allow all my current users to access it, or is there something else?
Depends on what you mean with “migration”.
If you copied all data from the old machine (including the Preferences.xml and the content of the Plex data folder) to the new machine, so that the new machine will completely replace the old one, then your shared users won’t even notice that something has changed.
If you however have set up a new server, you will have to grant your users access to that new machine.
You do that in https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/manage-library-access
by clicking on every user, then Libraries, Edit, then unchecking the libraries on the old server and checking those on the new server.
