Readding HDHomeRun Prime on SHIELD is not working after upgrade

After upgrading to the latest PMS on my Shield, my DVR (HDHomeRun Prime) is no longer functioning. This appears to be somewhat of a common problem but other solutions are not working for me.

PMS doesn’t recognize a DVR (therefore nothing to delete).
I attempt to add as a New DVR. It doesn’t auto detect (like it used to) so I input the IP address. It then proceeds to recognize the channels. I click continue and it just spins for hours.

Any ideas?

have you tried to downgrade to 1.16.0 delete the dvr and and it back after an upgrade to 1.16.2 or above?

Shield is not all that flexible. The only option I have is to “uninstall updates”. It doesn’t specify which version it will revert to. This comes with a warning that it will reset to factory settings. I really don’t want to have to redo my entire library.

Any shield users out there done this?

Can anyone from @Plex support (I’m a lifetime plex pass member) confirm if I should downgrade my PMS on Shield? And if doing so will I have to rebuild my entire library?

I did see a version where I think they fixed the issue so you should be able to just upgrade now and possibly fix your issue.

I did the downgrade myself and didn’t lose any library or recording schedules.

If anyone from Plex can chime in that would be great.

There was a fix after that in 1.16.4.1469 that corrected an issue relating to the upgrade of the EPG - see release note Plex Media Server - #279 by Ridley

  • Fix for deadlock when deleting DVR that could not be upgraded to Cloud EPG. (#10358)

I would suggest running with the current public release which is now 1.16.5.1488 and try to go through Delete DVR or if already auto deleted, go through create DVR
If it gets stuck take a screenshot and download the logs
