Reading Metadata from ".nfo" files

I am managing metadata of all my movie files with MyMovies which writes the corresponding metadata into “.nfo” files. These can be imported into XBMC/Kodi.
How can I get Plex to read the metadata from these local “.nfo” files when I am creating a new media library in Plex? Reading through some older threats and posts, there have been some specific Agents available to do exactly this. Now in the latest Plex Version adding 3rd Party agents does not seem to work anymore.
Any other suggestions/tips how to make use of “.nfo” metadata in Plex?

These still work fine as far as I know. (I don’t have any NFO files so can’t check) it is recognized as an agent though in plugins folder Metadata agents for exported XBMC library

I use the XMBcnfoMovieImporter and it works really well. I have it on a number of servers and they all are in sync.

i would like to create NFOs files in order to (try to) add metadata to some video clips … but i can’t find any example of some NFO files being read by PLEX and considered as valid. Could someone provide a working example (or a link on some documentations) ? Thanks in advance …

Plex doesn’t read NFO files. you need the third party metadata agents linked above.

You can make your own with this. https://nfo-maker.com/ ( there is a link to more info on that page)
