I really enjoy using Plex to distribute my TV and Movies throughout my house. At this time I don’t really care about adding music. I really would love it if Plex would add media that’s basically the spoken word. Audio books, old time radio programs and dramatized programs would be nice. I tried adding them to music and it was a train wreck. Plex tried to search and add information related to the programs. It would have been alright, but for the fact that the music library never stopped scanning, It basically brought the Plex server to a halt. I never found a solution to the scanning issue and it was difficult removing the music catagory. If anyone has suggestions I am eager to learn.
when you create the music library go into advanced and choose Personal Media Artist and it will not try to get online metadata. If you disable Local Media Assets for personal media artist and albums in server agent settings then it won’t get embedded metadata either.
