Just recently and suddenly I have noticed that my Plex server has very hard time identifying and matching items. Never had this issue before and I gave been using plex fo years.
This concerns both series and movies,. Either the items are added to library after scanning with dots in their names (as the filenames are) , and probably therefore not matched, or they get matched but no posters or description are ever downloaded.
Oftens series also are created double in the librart, so i have to manually merge them, until next episode then I have to do it again manually.
As I haven’t seen anything like that…
Would you mind sharing the following 3 information?
What version of the Plex Media Server are you using?
What scanner/agent have you set to be used for the libraries in question?
Can you give an example of how your files are named (preferably one of the movies that didn’t match and a tv show that resulted in 2 different series records)
Version is 0.9.16 (I know it’s old, but that’s because incompatibility.)
The scanner is tgetvdb for series and movie database for movies. Haven’t changed anything when it started not working.
I have just experimented and seems that the series are correctly identified if the folder it is in has the title without periods/dots. This has never been an issue for me before.
The movie issue the name is the movie title, it’s also matched correctly but doesn’t download any posters or anything.
