Recently Add Missing

Sorry, I’m not well versed enough on this forum to quote individual lines so I will just reference what you said.

You kind of make my point that something is not working quite as it should when you said “The “Recommended” tab…”. I was assuming the categories that I enabled there would be displayed on the individual library screen regardless of what I had enabled on the Home screen. But it turns out that is not the case.

Your second comment “Do you mean by default” - if I had left everything set to default I don’t think I would have had this issue at all. By default all of my libraries were set to display on the Home screen after I created them. In addition, “Recently Added” was enabled on all of my libraries when I created them.

Let me be more specific about my situation and what I am trying to do. The 2 libraries I was having trouble with are “News” and “TV Series”. I record a broad spectrum of news programs. When I want to sit down with my family and watch some TV, I’m really not interested in seeing the news. So I turned that off from the home screen. But when I want to watch some news it is nice to just go to the library and pick and chose from the most recent recordings. Similar thing (but slightly different) for “TV Series”. I like to record old TV Series shows in their entirety and then watch them consecutively. I don’t want them showing up in the Home screen (clutter). I don’t really care about “Recently Added” in this library, but it was noteworthy that Recently Added was not showing up there either.

So back to what I discovered - in the “Advanced” configuration for a library there is an option to display that library on the Home screen or not. Then in a different place you can configure what categories you want displayed on the individual Library screen. No where does it indicate that one controls the other. As a matter of fact - having separate configurations for each screen indicates (to me) that they are controlled separately. But that is apparently not the case.

So at the end of the day - had I just left everything at default I would not have had this frustrating problem.

I LOVE Plex and regularly tell people it is the best TV I have ever had in my 65 years of life. And I TRULY APPRECIATE your willingness to help me (and others) on this forum!!

You assume right.
That’s why there are separate columns here:

But the hubs which are activated there will only show up, if the library is not banished from appearing on the Home page at all, via the “Visibility” selector.

For hubs of a library to appear on the global Home page, the library must also be pinned to the left side bar.

Then I suggest you set the Visiblity of these libraries back to “include in Home page”.
But you un-pin them from the side bar.
That way you need to explicitly navigate to them via the side bar’s “MORE…” mode.

Okay, that’s good information to have. Thank you!!
