"Recently Added" content all wrong suddenly

Server Version#: 1.28.1.6104
Player Version#: 4.84.1

Recently experienced several power outages, and all of a sudden all my “Recently Added” content is being sorted incorrectly. The server is run on a macos, tied to synology NAS. None of the file system dates have changed.

How can I repair, and go back to the correct sorting order.

Thanks!

There’s no option to remove items from the recently added. This is not necessary according to Plex. (except for when it is)

The only thing you can do is uncheck “empty trash automatically after every scan” in the library settings

That should keep this from happening again.

The server scans the library when that media isn’t online. When that media comes back online and it scans again the server thinks it’s newly added media. “Recently added”

Thanks, yes, I discovered this “empty trash” setting is the cause of the issue that messed up my library sorting.

Are you saying there is no way to “hack” this. I see various sql methods online, but non seem worthy of trying so far.

I rely heavily on this sort option and now over 100 movies are sorted incorrectly.

This happened to a lot of my media lately because I made a few new libraries and moved items around.

It’s all media I’ve had on my server for years but if you move some of it to new libraries it shows as being a new item “recently added” to my server

I’ve seen some of those threads looking for a solution but I haven’t seen anything I’m willing to get involved in

I don’t need to compound my annoyance by getting involved in something else that will annoy me
