This happens to me 3 or 4 times per year. I’ll be scanning in new TV show episodes and at some point, notice that the line showing recently added episodes is gone. So I go through this to restore a previous library version: https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/
I get that it only lists 5 steps, but those 5 steps are kind of a pain. I really wish PMS had a built-in way to jump back through previous library versions.
Usually, one of the 3 backups that’s saved will restore that line. It happened to me again today so I went and restored my library from yesterday since I remembered it showing the recently added line. When I got everything set up and fired up PMS, the recently added line reappeared.
Okay, all is well and fixed, right? Nope! I scanned in new episodes and watched in real-time as that line disappeared in my web browser. A split second after the scan started.
So, what’s going on? Do I really have to go back 3 more days and restore an even older backup, scan everything back in, and then make all the edits I remember making again?
