I have removed recently added TV/Movies from showing in Home and enabled a custom smart collection that shows only new unwatched items.
The thing is - the recently added section keeps repeating. In the browser, I can resolve it by reloading the page but on Apple devices (TV/iPhone/iPad) I have to force quit the app and start it again.
Do you have several libraries of the type “TV Shows”?
In the top screenshot, on this page at the very bottom, is the checkbox for “Merge Recently Added items” ticked or unticked? Try toggling it to see if the behaviour changes.

I have several series/movies libraries, merged but the same settings for all - don’t show recently added, show smart collection.
Didn’t try disabling settings sync but I did reset the home layout on each player.
Also - it shows content from the library that I’ve explicitly said I don’t want to see recent from.
