Recently added randomly decides that old movies are new

I recently switched (2 months) to using a Shield for Plex instead of my home PC and in general I’m very happy with the switch. One thing that’s bugging me is that aaaaallllll my movies were listed as ‘recently added’ 2 months ago, which I kind of get, it’s annoying but I understand.

However, every few weeks, it decides that several movies that were already listed (that I’ve had for years) are now new and lists them at the top of ‘recently added’.

With the very long ‘RA’ retention (2+ months now) and it randomly deciding some old movies are brand new, my RA list is very long and not accurate. So I guess I have two questions:

Can I change the window for RA such that it only lists movies for, say, a month instead of multiple?

What might be causing Plex to re-list old movies as RA, thereby making the list confusing and unnaturally long?

Same problem here. I also saw that during a library update I get media deleted notifications when actually nothing is actually deleted .

Same problem. I just fixed my library 2 weeks back and the recently added is screwed up with old movies. Please address.

Same here but with Plexserver on Mac - this was already the case in former versions since month

Yepp, same here, occurs for me alongside the issue where my library is arbitrarily capped at a certain random number of movies (664 for me, but others report anywhere from 400 to 800). I can deal with missing a few movies, but THIS issue is making the Recently Added list pointless, and it was extremely useful for me when it worked.

Yeah, faaaaq’s right; I really like the recently added list until this happened. I JUST watched a movie I’ve had since 2014 get readded, now listed as being added “a few seconds ago”. I was just trying to do a library refresh to try and get Plex to recognize a new movie.

Same problem here. I do seem to remember this happening on my old Mac mini as well. It is super annoying.

I’ve got the same exact issue here. Running the latest PMS version on Shield TV and have been having the issues since I bought the device. Love the Shield besides this tiny bug, drives me crazy when a movie from 1980 shows up as Recently Added

I am also getting this was just my music library. Add a couple new albums and do a refresh of the library and get like 20 new albums that are new. Running 1.2.0.310.

Same here. I installed the latest update and still have this, as well as 3 randomly missing movies at all times. i think what’s happening is the missing movies get found, added to recently added, and then three new movies get forgotten.
