I would like the option to set the recently released section to their DVD/streaming release date rather than the Box office release date. I do not care about the box office release date as I can’t add movies that are in the box office to plex the same day they release in box office. IMO this whole section should be based off their DVD/streaming release rather than Box Office.
Simply replace the “Recently Released” hub with the “Recently Added” hub.
I‘m also wondering if the recently-added hub might be more suitable for what you’re trying to achieve. I remember there’s quite a number of movies that didn’t have a US box office release and were released on DVD/Blu-Ray decades after they were first released… that seems like it might turn the dvd release date as „release date“ rather meaningless (or at least potentially more confusing…
That only shows what has been added to the server in the order that it has been added to the server. Let’s say I add a new movie that just came out and then add 5 old ones. How am I or anyone else to know it was recently released on dvd when currently in recently released it puts it the date that it was released in theaters thus sometimes showing much farther down the list in recently released. Since unless you are pirating, you’ll never have it the day it releases in theaters. It is more appropriate to have it show in order of digital release/dvd release rather than theater. Was hard to explain that, hope it makes sense
