Recieving Server is not accessible error from Nvidia Shield and PS5

Server Version#:v.1.43.0.10389-8be686aa6
Player Version#:Shield 10.30.8.4222

Hello,

Ever since I updated my server to the latest beta. My Nvidia Shield and PS5 are unable to access the plex server. On the Shield i get a server is not accessible error. I have run through the entire troubleshooting run. I have uninstalled the server and app on both ps5 and Shield and reloaded them. I have fallen back to the 1.42 version of Plex Server with no improvement. I have allowed insecure connections, I have made sure they are on the same subnet on the wifi.

Please Help!

It needs a network, likely your VPN killswitch got activated.

Please go into Server Settings > General and uncheck Verbose logging then restart your server.

i restarted the plex server as well. I am still receiving the same error on the shield and ps5. i even cleared the shield plex app cache and reauthorized the shield on the plex/link

here are more settings. wifi 2 is a onboard adapter that i dont use. this is my current settings

wanted to bump this. its been about 5 hours since i provided additional info. really need some help here.

Do you have new logs?

Plex Media Server Logs_2026-02-06_18-44-55.zip (6.0 MB)

here are the new logs

The server is up and running on the WiFi adapter and did discover the Shield. Provided you didn’t manually set the server IP in the Shield android client or have device isolation active on the WiFi it should connect to the server. You could try clearing app data and cache on the Shield to force the login and setup.

so i cleared the app data and cache and reauthorized the shield. here are the logs. it still will not display my movie or tv folders.

looking at the logs it is not doing a get request for the movie or tv folders that are shared out. just all the live programming and stuff plex offers

bumping this.

Roll back to Plex Media Server 1.42.2.10156, if that fixes it then you have consider how to remedy dns failure to lookup plex.tv and Plex disabling the Legacy Agents.

The new agents follow these naming guide.

https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/
https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-movie-media-files/

I rolled back to 1.42.2.10156 and cleared the cache on shield and reauthorized the shield. still cant access. and it is the same for the ps5. Are you saying you are seeing dns failure to look up plex.tv and i have agent failures? I’m a bit lost on what you mean. I have my movies and tv separated in different folders, following the naming structure. i can see the movies and tv shows locally on the server from the web interface.

here is a screenshot of my movie settings.

the SSDP is detecting the shield at 192.168.1.60 but im not sure why the shield cannot see the plex server.

adding logs again.

Without changing a bunch of things at one time. Can you switch to ethernet? Make sure the connection is set to Private network.

What does your Server Settings > Network page look like?

I don’t have ethernet drops in my house. it is entirely wifi based.

This seems to be more about networking than Plex itself. One more time through the checks.

System time is synced and correct on all devices.
Network is set to Private.
Server is claimed. (You should be able to open a cmd window and run this:

curl http://127.0.0.1:32400/identity

) and get back claimed=1
Using the same login on all devices.
Your using the android client on the Shield version 10.30.6 and not the Server version.
You could also try opening a browser on the shield and going to https://app.plex.tv.

here is the claimed response from the curl

i get denied accessing plex via brower due to google policy attached is screenshot

bumping this thread.

Only the app should be loaded on the Shield, not the server version.

On Windows, under Plex Network settings change it to ipv4 only.

In a browser bring up https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/all and grab a screenshot to get the version of the android client. Remove any duplicates that are old.

switched to ipv4 only. i removed the old shield authorized. and reauthorized. here is the screenshot of the version of the android client.

i even uninstalled the old 1.42 client and installed the newly available 1.43. i only downloaded and installed the client for plex not the server. still receiving the same error

Need to see what is happening when the Shield tries to talk to Plex and your server.

  • Start the Plex client on the Shield.
  • Using a browser go to: http://ipofshield:32500/logging
  • Should get a 404
  • Under Shield client settings got Advanced > Network logging > on
  • Refresh your browser - should have a screen of text
  • Select all and save to a file to upload here.
  • Disable Network logging.
