"Recommended" Tab Genre Options?

Hello

As my library grows, I realize flipping through all the movies is no longer feasible. I need better and easier ways to visually sort items when casually looking for something to watch.

I thought that was the purpose of the content on the “Recommended” Tab - but honestly that content always seems not useful to me because it focuses on watch history, media add date, etc. All user actions.

What I’m really looking for are genre options. Like visual genre sections with a random ordering of movies. Pretty much like a netflix or other streaming service. I want to see “Action” and then a random row of action movies, then a new section “Drama” and a random row of drama movies, etc.

I know I can use the filter on the main library page to filter by genre. That works, but I find it a bit clunky for casual viewing. I have to keep adding and removing filters until I find what I like. It’s a lot of clicking, not as visual/pretty, and less efficient.

I’m aware of smart playlists - but I don’t like the playlist interface really. It’s too far removed from the main library functionality and it’s not visually appealing.

I like collections - but don’t have the desire to go through and tag all of my movies into genre-based collections. While auto genre collection generation would be a nice option, the only auto collection functionality I’m aware of is for real, content/series based collections.

Is there a way to force related genre-focused sections onto the recommended tab that I have missed? Or are there any workarounds folks use to mimic this behavior?

Thank you.
