Could Plex populate the “Originally Available” field based on the recording date versus the data from EPG provider and the EPG info could be incorrect?

We already do that for some and it has caused issues already for some airings. There is no perfect answer other than having the right original air date in the EPG data we receive.

I have just received a response that this news series has been sequenced and original air dates set. So we need to wait until these updates come through our ingestion files and then get picked up by Plex Media Server. I will check the data and let you know once it comes through

Also have this issue, many recordings show an incorrect date of Dec 31, 2019
would need to investigate the specific airings and refer these to our provider.
The Dec 31 2019 arises if we default to 1 Jan 2020 and for some timezones this gets adjusted to the day before
