This is a new install on an MS Surface Laptop s7 (i5, 256GB SSD boot drive and 4TB Crucial x6
PROCESSOR : Intel® Core™ i5-1035G4 CPU @ 1.10GHz, GRAPHICS : LuminonCore IDDCX Adapter, Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics
The OS is Windows 11 Pro, fully upgraded with no firewall or bit defender running.
I have live TV working perfectly (from XTeve tuner with 4 tuners). Live TV is faultless.
Recordings or partial airings and or full recordings start successfully (I can see the counting up and writing to the temp directory), but they never end and I never get a file to watch at the end.
To clear the channel, I have to reboot PMS.
Any advice would be most appreciated. I’ve tried everything I can think of now.
Hi, thanks for the advice. I have captured this from the log, at the moment it stops recording to the temp folder. Does this help identify the problem ? Sorry I dont know what this means.

Just to add, I have been a PLEX lifetime sub for many many years. It has previously been running on a few different PCs and a Synology FS. I’ve successfully had Xteve working before, but I was wondering if the database held settings from previous redundant configs ?
Be worthwhile checking folder permissions for the various folders you use with Plex, for example the one above and whatever folder you use to store your TV recordings in.
Thanks e10kstarfire, but I did this and can confirm that both the Episodes folder (which is on a 4Tb drive labelled D: and the transcodetemp directory (on C:) havent got read only set on them.
I can watch the files being written into the transcode temp folder. They are all sequentially numbered, starting at 00001.ts and going up by 1.
Problem is that the recording (either pre-set, or started within a live program) doesnt create a final record file, BUT I can watch the live program perfectly and the EPG data is all showing correctly on all channels.
Situation :
I am running Windows 11 on a high spec PC (Surface Pro 7).
PLEX is the latest version
May tuner is xTeve which is configured and working perfectly for LIVE TV.
Recording starts to create files in the Sessions folder, but fails part way through, then deletes all the small files it has created.
Within PLEX it never ends the recording - it shows 125% or more (!) complete.
To stop it, the only thing Ive been able to do is stop and start PMS.
No errors showing in xTeve.
To address, I have :
Reinstalled PMS
Reinstalled xTeve
Removed and re-addeded xTeve to Plex as DVR tuner
Tried running PMS as Administrator
Edited permissions
Removed all form of security I can think of from the server PC.
