Hi , I’m recording NFL games OTA and I’m using MCEBuddy to convert the files to a much smaller size. I’m running in this issue with Plex. Once the recording is done the game shows up in my library, but after its been converted by MCEBuddy it disappear. As if there was a protection againt having NFL game recorded in your library. If I move the file to my movie section I can watch it but as soon as I put it back in my tv show folder Plex won’t let me see it. The reason that make me think it’s protected is that if I change the file name to ¨123¨for example then it show up. If there’s a NFL, city VS city or a team name it doesn’t show up.

When you process the file, do you retain the file name as is?

If you are not doing this as part of the post processing script Plex will think you have deleted the file.

Yes I’m keeping the same name, the only difference is the size and its switching from .ts to mp4.

It is working for my other shows except for the NFL…

I’m trying to record multiple NFL games, and then play them back after the fact. Plex though won’t play the correct file as it shows on the web interface. Example I recorded three games yesterday but only 1 of the games plays, regardless of which of the 3 I try to click on! Only work around is to delete one manually after I am done with it. Renaming it removes it entirely from Plex like you described above, really odd…using an HD home run to record on my network.
