Having issues whenever i try and record something from the guide that it only shows Video/movie locations rather than TV library. normally it defaults to my “TV Programmes” library

Whether Plex wants to stick the recorded file into a “movie” or a “tv show”-type library depends on the information in the EPG (which in your case is imported from the XMLTV file).
If the scheduled airing is marked as a tv show episode, Plex allows you to record it into a “tv show” library.
If not, you will only get “movie” (or “Other Videos”) -type of libraries to choose from.
That was my understanding of it too. So it looks like the epg provider isnt showing that info/tag in the XML. Have a feeling I’m going to have to find another provider then 
Do you specifically what tags plex is looking for in the XML EPG? I may speak to the provider and see if they can include the tags

Sorry, no. What’s wrong with Plex’s EPG?
I’m using combined sources and plex doesnt allow for a mix of XML and Plex Guides for multiple tuners
MY one bug bear with Plex Live TV. You can use either Plex Guides or xml guides but not a combination of the two
