Server Version#: 1.21.1.3876
Player Version#: Roku V 6.7 build 4
We recently bought a newer, much more powerful computer to run PMS (and ONLY PMS) on, because we had more and more issues with the old one. Most of the time Private Internet Access VPN and qBitTorrent are running in the background, but that’s IT.
Computer specs:
|Processor|Intel® Celeron® G4900 CPU @ 3.10GHz
|Installed RAM|16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)|
The drive media is stored on is an external USB 3.0 7200 RPM 4 TB drive (cache size unknown)
The router is a TP-Link AC 1750
Log: Plex Media Server Logs_2021-01-18_18-16-10.zip (5.3 MB) The “server was not powerful enough” error occurred around 2020/01/18 18:16
Another log for the "playback has stopped due to an [unspecified] error: Plex Media Server Logs_2021-01-18_18-26-25.zip (5.3 MB) The error occurred around 18:25 the same date
I’m regularly getting the “server was not powerful enough” error on local playback. According to the dashboard, the show I’m watching is 1080p HEVC transcoded to h.264 locally at 6 mbps, with forced subtitles. My understanding is that this rig was supposed to be able to handle multiple 1080p transcodes at once, not struggle with just one.
Both the server and the Roku are wired connection, and even plugged into the same physical switch (though I know that doesn’t matter as routing is done at the router), but I get this error, or “playback has stopped due to an error” (though what error, it won’t tell me) regularly.
Any steps for troubleshooting whether this is an issue with the server, router, or TV player?
