This is cosmetic, but it causes doubt as to whether the refresh is progressing, or frozen. Also, I listed the current versions above, but this has been going on for a long time/many builds.
When I do a ‘Refresh all metadata,’ the Activity menu icon is surrounded by an animated spinner. That’s fine, and it works. But if you click on it, the dropdown menu shows the album currently being scanned, and it, too, has a spinner, but it never moves. It looks frozen, which is where the doubt comes from. I see this in Firefox and Vivaldi (chromium based).
It would be a nice ease-of-mind enhancement if this could be fixed.
Pretty sure this is a browser refresh problem with the browser not detecting the spinner is actually finished. I’ve noticed this for approx a year now and a refresh of the page fixes it.
Maybe the top banner could be improved to better detect when it’s done but that may come with a slight browser performance hit.
Okay, I see, it just moves so slowly because it’s showing the overall progress of the scan. Thanks.
For some reason I have a couple of releases where the scan takes an inordinately long time to scan, so it really looks stuck. But I just watched as it got past one of those, and it’s a little more obvious.
