Regression behavior on the EPG (positioning according to the current time in the guide)

Hello, since a few versions when we watch a channel and come back to the guide after a while. The guide no longer positions itself at the current time. If the last time we were in the guide to select a channel (ex: 1:00 PM) when we come back to the guide a little later (say 6:00 PM) the guide is still positioned at 1:00 PM. Like I said at the start of my post everything was working fine until about 1 month ago.

Android Public Version 8.22.0.27533 (link below) which is the last public version to have auto EPG update still working.
I too am wondering why this quit working on newer versions and can it be fixed?

I’ve noticed this as well, but also that you cannot return to the program you’re watching without either returning to the program in the guide.

Live TV & DVR EPG automatic time advance is BROKEN on the Android client for a few months now. XMLTV here.

I had a trick to this but it works on 8.22.0, not the latest version. Wish they would take the “Auto EPG updating” and “return to live tv from guide” features and add it on the latest version.

As of now i haven’t been updating my shield clients ever since the September TV crash debacle.

It’s very annoying that this such of bug still occur. It’s a basic behavior that should work properly.

@sixones When are the long list of Live TV & DVR problems suspected to get fixed on the Android client?

It is, after all, a selling point for Plex Passes that currently doesn’t work for half the user base here.

Probably when a seasoned Android Mastermind like Ebr comes over to Plex. Which likely will never happen! The biggest issue with a lot of these employees is they don’t have live TV routed through Plex! This makes it extremely difficult to develop a great software when you don’t even use it yourself.

I guess they are wayyyyy under paid LMAO! Roku for the win!

I would love to give my Android clients some love but the only one that works for me is the mobile client. Android 12 none the less (Pixel 3XL).

Yep, still an issue.
