Related tracks and poor version recommendations

Hi all.

So, I love PlexAmp and the recommendations from Related Tracks to create a playlist of songs according to my current mood.

The challenge I’m facing is that, for artists where you have several versions of the same track (Album, but then acoustic EP, live, etc) you will often get recommended a version that’s not really the best one - the album one.

Any way around it? Should I rate those with 1-star (even though it feels wrong?) to prevent them from being recommended in the related tracks?

The issue seems similar to Plex Music: How to remove live tracks from "Popular Tracks" list though I think that the one in that topic actually became addressed for the most part with the latest metadata updates where we now split Albums, EPs, etc - it seems only Album versions show up on the Popular Track list, which is the right answer for the majority of cases I’ve run into. Anything you’d suggest for Related Tracks?

I know I can swipe left to get more related tracks, but as long as the wrong one is the first one visible it makes it unnecessarily awkward.

Actually, a good sign for Related Tracks being recommended would be how many times in the last 24h that specific track was explicitly skipped over in the related list (i.e. how many times it has been presented in a screen that has had any other interaction - other tracks being selected, being swiped left, or the user pressed “More”). If it has been skipped more than 2-3 times in the last 24h, perhaps just move on to the next one in the list and don’t suggest it again.

I know that Unmatching an album will remove that from the Popular Track list, but unsure if it affects the Related Tracks. Not to mention, once again, that just like rating it 1-star, it “feels” like a hack.

Thanks, and happy holidays.

This is actually a pretty good suggestion around using album versions!
