Ok so most of my anime seems to be named correctly. Still not working though.
That's some progress, now I need your log file to figure out what is going onOk so most of my anime seems to be named correctly. Still not working though.
ok where do I grab that?

Log File location: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200250417-Plex-Media-Server-Log-Files
in PMS Plugin Logs should be a "net.devvsbugs.coding.plex.myanimelist.log" file attach this file to your next post. Please do a rescan of your library before you upload the file.
I'm running plex as a plugin on my freenas server and I'd love to know if the folder structure for where to dump the file is different because as a relative novice I couldn't find the folder and quickly got lost in the command line file structure... If anyone here can help it'd be much appreciated.

The Way how you find the plugins folder is described here https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201106098-How-do-I-find-the-Plug-Ins-folder-
I can't really say anything about the freenas server but isn't there Linux running? if so this should be your path
$PLEX_HOME/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-Ins
EDIT: since many where asking for "How do I install it?" or "Where do I get the log file?" I added the Troubleshooting section in my initial post to answer this question right away
I'm seeing a weird problem with a small number of newish shows: for example Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka. The agent is able to successfully find the title in question, but when it tries to download the cached info from the daraku mal API it fails.
I've attached the log file for the search, but I noticed the failure appears to be when grabbing the media id url, with the server returning a server error.
http://daraku-mal-api.net/services/v2/anime/28121
If I manually enter this URL in my browser, I get an internal server error " HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format : "" "
If I use the search function, it does pull up the correct information:
I can head to other show URLs without trouble, e.g. the page for Akame Ga Kill! Gekijou (referenced on an earlier post in this thread) loads for me:
http://daraku-mal-api.net/services/v2/anime/25241
I'm assuming there's a problem with some of the cached files (maybe the XML file) for these anime as otherwise the MALagent seems to work fine. The shows I am seeing a problem with are:
* DanMachi ( http://daraku-mal-api.net/services/v2/anime/28121 )
* Nagato Yuki-chan no Shou####su ( http://daraku-mal-api.net/services/v2/anime/26351 )
* Ninja Slayer From Animation ( http://daraku-mal-api.net/services/v2/anime/23605 )
I attached the trace from my plugin logs in case it's helpful but it looks like an issue with the server rather than the plugin itself. Please let me know if you need any more information or if there's any troubleshooting I can do to help / that will resolve this!
thanks!

No problem, and glad to help! I forgot to say it in my original post, but thank you so much for building this agent - the anidb agents never worked well for me, so the MALagent was a great discovery for me. I really appreciate all the time you spend on it and the Daraku-MAL API itself!

thank you, I'm glad you like what I produced there :lol: *maniacal laugh*
just to let you know I will work at the bugs on the weekends
All Done now, pretty easy problem. The TVDB saves some episodes without a date but with an empty string, and my parser didn't know what todo with this. He will now create a dummy date which is the date it was requested. it should be overwritten as soon as there is an actual date for this specific episode and the cache is refreshed
Yup, that fixed my problem! I had to manually match a couple shows (DanMachi doesn't like matching if you search for the full title) but once I did it grabbed everything just fine!
Thanks so much for fixing the issue!

yeah there are a few issues which I don't like and want to fix, but there are bound to the http request I do to the myanimelist website and therefore are not fixable from my end.
Still myanimelist updated their website, now they provide the episodes too BUT in the same manner they did with the rest of the website, I can't parse it without making a bunch of request. <_<
Just a quick question. Is there any Season images through this? Might be an issue with my Plex but I was just wondering. Looks like I'm getting everything but the Season images.
Thanks.

Nope no season Images because There are no Seasons Supported by MyAnimeList, every anime you search with this agent only has one season.

Okie dokie. I was just asking because I know for Death Note, it did at least a picture, not necessarily a season image. I just don't like that default arrow the other has. Lol.

It could be possible that Plex does it by itself but I can't confirm that, As far as the agent does stuff it wont set a Season Image

Thanks much sir. I appreciate it.
I have a weird issue, synopsis metadata isn't acquiring for episodes that actually have metadata, and garbage metadata is taking its place. Newest agent, BABS.

Also, to solve the empty season images problem, is it possibly that the cover art could by used for the season art too? If it ends up acquiring 2x the files, it wouldn't be worth it, but if the same images could be used for both, it would definitely help the look.
I am asking on the forums if its possible to help contribute episode metadata to help out, if it works out I might spend a decent amount of time focusing on the most popular/top anime and adding episode information to them. If it doesn't, I'll live with what MAL currently has as they likely add it at their own pace :).
Update:
Redid the library/wiped bundles, cache etc for myanimelist and its all sorted. There is no synopsis for any of the anime, and no episode descriptions, even if MyAnimeList has one. Is this intended?
