Release notes for the TestFlight builds?

So apart from on the release notes that come on the device itself. is there anything more informative/specific here on the forums?

Specifically in the the latest tvOS/iOS
-improved compatibility with Dolby Vision video.

So does that mean support for a different profile.

Does it mean DV actually plays Dolby Vision of some particular profile or just continues to play as HDR and STILL triggers the ATV into DV mode to fool everyone (or at least as dumb as ■■■■ Apple users) into thinking it’s Dolby Vision?

What exactly has changed?

I assume it’s safe to assume that without anything added it’s an admission that Plex does not play anything ever in DV on the Apple TV?

Reddit is dying to know.

I would hope so, given I’m the test lead for Apple, Android and Roku :sweat_smile:

In this case, we use AVPlayer for DoVi Profile 5, as we don’t currently support profile 5 via mpv. I’m pretty certain that’s what it is, but I’m out at the moment for some much needed bodily repairs, so could be misremembering :sweat_smile:

Can I ask as I’m no expert on Apple stuff…
Is AVPlayer the native Apple player?
AKA what is termed the old player?

Or is it a different player to both that and MPV.

Yeah, AVPlayer is the native Apple player, aka the old player.
