I love the shared content on the home screen.
The only thing that is a little bit confusing is that if there are people in your shared content list that have the same names for sections, let’s say “Tv Shows” , which is the default name, things get a bit confusing to find out which one is which. Is it possible to add an option to change the name yourself? Or, perhaps even better, to select a server like in the Samsung app, or PMP (one of the few, if not the only thing i like about it)
If i hover over TV Shows, there’s a small line underneath with the pms name.
Current OpenPHT is effectively a port to Windows and OSX of the PHT source code used for RasPlex, which originally was a port to OpenELEC for RPi of the official PHT sources. RasPlex is still OpenELEC based and will remain so, the only difference being that it is now a project independent of any future PHT sources from Plex Inc (as there probably won’t be any such).
So it should definitely be possible to make a port of OpenPHT to OpenELEC for normal PCs as well.
However, traditionally other people have handled OpenELEC and other PC-Linux based ports of PHT, and it might be a good idea to stick to this method. That’s partly not to ‘step on any toes’ ;), but mainly because the coders for OpenPHT/RasPlex already have a lot on their plate, and adding support for the PC Linux distros as well might be too much. These guys have ‘real’ jobs and a private life outside programming as well, so they can’t dedicate all their time to supporting a lot of different releases to cope with all OS variants.

Can you tell if there will be a version for Andriod also? That would be awsome
Since PHT (and thus OPHT) is heavily dependent on a physical keyboard, or physical remote, it would not be suitable for use on a touchscreen operated device, without a complete redesign. (IE: no longer PHT-like)
It might be suitable for use with non-mobile android devices, such as OUYA, Nexus Player, and others, since these usually do have some keyboard-like input device (Nexus remote, OUYA gamepad, etc).
But at present no plans exist for any Android port of OPHT.
The developers for the combined RasPlex and OpenPHT projects already have a bit much ‘on their plate’, so adding an Android branch would probably be too much for adequate maintenance.
Perhaps some other developer could pick up that idea though.
Once again, thank you for 1.5 version. Broken Filters on seemingly random was driving me as a skinner crazy
what are the plans with OpenPHT ?
I love Kodi/PHT front-end on HTPC (everything else is a compromise in one way or another) but current PHT is based on very old XBMC version. I was hoping for updated version of PHT but alas instead we got PMP
Since Plex said it’s ‘nigh impossible’ to update PHT to recent Kodi builds - is OpenPHT going to remain on Frodo forever or are you going to attempt something like PleXBMC or … ?
I have OpenPHT running on 3rd screen in full screen mode. Sometimes when I start application there is a black 3cm line at the bottom of screen. I need to switch to windows mode “”, exit app, start it again, it will start in window mode but on main screen and it’s all fine.
Anyone experienced that as well?

I think you’ll find quite a bit of Isengard in PHT, we have been using Isengard code in Rasplex (which is basically PHT, now OpenPHT), for quite a while now. I am assuming that Plex Inc have to make business decisions (they are a commercial enterprise after all) based on some element of financial impact, OpenSource has no interest in financial gain so I am sure that much of the Frodo code will be migrated on a function by function basis in the months to come.

I’ve experienced it with both PHT and OpenPHT. Switching to window mode, quitting, and restarting works for me, too.
What @NedtheNerd meant was simply that if you think you have found a real bug in OpenPHT, then you should make an official issue post for it at that github location. This is the best way to make sure that the entire RasPlex team will see it, and will be able to find it in future too, as opposed to issues merely being discussed here in the Plex forums, where important info sometimes ‘drowns’ in later posts.
