Releasing the new app was a crazy decision

This entire new release from Plex is a lesson in how NOT to release major changes to an application.

One small example - there have been a ton of posts regarding people asking - where is their music and photos? Folks from Plex, etc. have indicated - “well, it’s been announced previously”. So I went looking to see where it was announced - and sure enough, it’s buried in this wall of text post: The new experience is coming to mobile: What to expect

But here’s the issue - the info about photos and music is buried way towards the bottom of that post. And how many people are actually going to read through that entire post to find that out?!

Plex should’ve gotten the word out a lot better - especially for topics such as MAJOR changes to an application (like removing music and photos). That should have been one of the first topics listed. They could’ve also pushed notifications to clients, sent more emails out, etc. They could have made changes to the legacy app to alert users that a major change was coming. I’m sure they also have statistics on users that use the legacy Plex app for music (not Plexamp users), and target them more specifically.

The fact that they did NONE of this shows how much of a clusterF this rollout has been.
