Remote accces not available outside your network

Sorry, missed your original reply where you said it was’t in the range.

Do you see a page similar to this in your router? Grabbed a picture from a quick search, so maybe it’s not accurate…

i can find it’s general IP but it doesnt clearly specify its a WAN adress either way its different from the one shown on the site

i can get to that sub menu but it doesn show me the WAN connection info as in the screenshot.

Who is your ISP?

What are the first two octets of that address (the x and y in x.y.n.n)?

vodafone DE

192.168.xxx.x

They appear to utilize CGNAT from a google search, which would make port forwarding with ipv4 not possible. This is likely why they don’t show a WAN IP, since you don’t technically have one, you get a shared IP that is not unique to you. Might want to contact them to confirm. You can ask to be removed from CGNAT (usually comes with a fee) or purchase a static ip from them, if they offer it.

Something I forgot to ask initially: Did this ever work, or is this something you’re newly configuring?

You could always contact your ISP to confirm whether or not they’ve implemented CG-NAT for their customers.

i’ve been trying for a while but it never worked so new configuration

correct! I recently changed ISP, no mention of CGNAT, switched over and instant no remote streaming. Cancelled same day and changed ISP again! Best way is to check with ISP that you are getting a static IP

I used to have those issues as well. What work for me to get it working without having to mess with the router setting is go to windows - settings then go to privacy and security then go to “firewall and network protection” then go to “allow an app through the firewall” then at the top right you are going to see “private and public” then from that window go to the top where it says “change settings” and then it will be able to let you check mark the public and private settings. Then Scroll down till you see all plex related setting and check mark both public and private settings so you can get remote access. I was also having issue with private viewing when I was connected to my internet connection but once I turn on the private settings now plex works flawlessly same thing goes for the remote access as well. This is what I did and I did not have to mess with the router settings!

Edit: also if you have any remote access software that you are using to access your computer or server make sure to do the same for that as well as a vpn. When I would turn on nord vpn the remote access to plex would not be available. Once I did it to nord vpn it worked perfectly
