Set up my server on my home PC, works great on local devices! However, having difficulty with remote access and remote devices. When I first sent an invitation to my remote Son, he was able to see it right away on his iPhone, but could not get it to work on his home (remote from server) PS3 or PS4 - still, have not found a solution for him. As one attempt, I noticed my remote server was not enabled. After a few tries, added the 32400 port manually and bingo, green light! He could see it, but not connect. Also, however, after this last update, my remote server setup will not stay enabled (green checkmark) for more than 30 seconds. I could really use some help to get this up and running the way I would like. I have looked at instructions, but much is like reading Chinese. How about some simple steps to get this to do its basic functions? Thank you.
I have been having this same problem intermittently for the past few days. I have the same version installed. My connection (local and remote) has always just worked for the past 4-5 years but the past week the server becomes Unavailable and then 5 minutes later, all is fine. Not sure what is going on.
Ok, still haven’t solved this problem of Remote access. Had it working until a PLEX update came out and now it will not hold. Have tried everything I can think of. Spoke to AT&T about my router settings, they went in and opened things up so there should be no conflicts with the router. I rebooted my PC, which did a Win10 update and PLEX did another update in the process as well. Afterward, the Remote Access connected and stayed on without a glitch for more than 2 hours, then stopped and has not worked since, and that was Friday 9/12/19. My son is also, still unable to connect thru the share link. He can see the server, but can’t access it. So, seems like this is a problem squarely in the PLEX camp. PLEASE, I NEED TO SPEAK TO A PLEX TECHNICAL SUPPORT AGENT TO GET THIS SOLVED. Having a good program is only good if it works like it’s supposed too, and currently, PLEX gets a ZERO for ease of setup with regard to the Remote Access… Still Waiting??
