For several days I have been losing remote access and my users are unable to access my server. I have tried several troubleshooting techniques I found online and nothing seems to work. It will be enabled for a short amount of time then it will go red.
I have 1 router. It does appear that I may have Double-NAT… my ipv4 IP’s are different when I do the test but I can not figure out how to fix it since I do not have 2 routers to bridge. Please advise.

I usually recommend users to take a look at this guide.

If your setup doesn’t use different routers / active network components that might be causing a double-NAT situation, this could be linked to a change on your ISP’s side – you could start looking into what type of IPv4 address they’re assigning to your router (=your router’s WAN address). If they put you in some CGNAT, you’ll most likely see the router’s WAN IP address to be a private network IP address.

Thanks so much, that is a great guide. I need to dig deeper into it. I think my issues started the other day when I changed a bunch of settings in my VPN, however, Plex bypasses the VPN (PIA) and the issues happen whether its on or not… but I don’t recall having remote access issues before I made the changes in the VPN settings. Strange.

Did you look over the logs? I wonder if they hold any keys.

I didn’t… server logs can contain some hints but with remote access there’s too much going on outside the server itself for that to be conclusive.

Would it do any good to hit the red X next to the Private<Public IP address? Would that cause anything to reset and maybe help?

That’s just a ststus indicator without further functionality.
