Remote access disconnects after a few seconds

<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

For the past few days I’ve experienced that I get the “Not available outside your network” message, and if I disable remote access or turn off the internet connection to the computer for a second it works again (testing with my iOS app on cellular) for a few seconds to a minute, before it flips back to not available. I feel like the issues started after the previous update, so I rolled back to the previous version but the issue persisted, so I reinstalled the new version again.

Did you manually forward a port? Is it still open? https://canyouseeme.org/

Did your isp move you to CGNAT? Check the WAN ip in your router. Does it fall between 100.64.0.0 - 100.127.255.255? If so, you are. If not, does it match the ip at the link above, it needs to.

If you’re CGNAT, you’ll have to contact your isp to ask about being removed, either for a fee or free. Alternatively, if your isp gives you an ipv6 address that doesn’t block some incoming traffic and you’re on the latest server version, you can setup remote access directly with ipv6.

While attempting to forward a port I think I found out that Double NAT is happening (I just got moved to a new ISP, though they don’t use CGNAT). I have a call with them tomorrow to change the gateway to bridge mode, so hopefully that will sort it out.

I just want to add an update that the issue indeed was Double NAT, and a call to the ISP fixed it by putting the gateway into bridge mode.

This case is considered closed:)
