Remote Access drops out randomly, almost always overnight

Server Version#: 4.141.0
Player Version#:
I installed the server six months ago and the remote access worked fine until about a month ago, when it began dropping out randomly. It happens occasionally during the day, but always overnight. I’m using port forwarding on an Arris DG3450A router. I’ve tried both WiFi and Ethernet connections to the server, but the situation continues. I’ve used a port checker to see if 32400 is open, and it says it’s closed, even when remote access is working.

Is there anyone on this forum who can spell out why remote access randomly drops out? It can work fine for half a day and then just quit. There must a short list of things that can make this happen. If it had never worked at all, I wouldn’t be half as annoyed as I am with it suddenly becoming completely unreliable.

Sorry, you haven’t provided enough info. Something you can check is if your server is set to use a manual port, if not then it’s using the UPNP feature of your router which uses a random port, not 32400, so having that open or not doesn’t matter. If you are using the manual port setting, then you need to create a port forwarding rule in your router for whatever port number you put into that setting in Plex.
