Have had no issues with my server for years, today it was working midday, then early evening my daughter messaged to say she couldn’t access from her house
Occasionally it will reconnect for a few seconds, and I can access from remote devices, but then I get red crosses sometimes on private public and internet , sometimes private shows green.
Ive also noticed The check for updates fails and gets replaced with install manually ?
Also tried a new server install on my laptop, that does the same
Tried port forwarding, I’m on Virgin Media have been for years, Is this a Virgin issue. Ive changed nothing. thanks

Interesting, I just let it choose my port for me, and it seems to be working, checking the port with the canyousee me tool, it was visible, but port 32400 and the port I chose to manually use are not !! Spoke to soon, it worked on my laptop, but my main server still wont connect.
Your descriptions are confusing.
So can you access the port you chose remotely?
Are you port forwarding or are you relying on UPnP? You should port forward on your router and turn off UPnP (on your router) and Plex Relay (on plex server settings). This will make troubleshooting a lot easier. You won’t get the wishy washy “sometimes it works, sometimes it wont”
Follow the plex guide to port forwarding. Forward port 32400 to your server’s local IP. Get it to work with 32400 first before you mess around with other port numbers.
I’m suspecting whatever the issue it was ISP related, went bed with it not working, woke up, remote access working again.
