Remote access for Plex stopped working a few days ago, accessed Plex locally in Chrome on host server and confirmed the Lets Encrypt certificate had expired.
Restarted Plex, then the host server, no change.
Dropped the certificate files from cache folder, restarted Plex, still no luck. Checked the latest log file and found that renewal failing due to API rate limited exceeded? Assume this is back-end issue, can my account please be checked?
Note: Just as I was about to submit this, I noticed that I am not the only Plex account experiencing remote access issues, my assumption they are experiencing the same issue I am? Is there a reason this is not advertised on https://status.plex.tv/?
Thank you!
Please stop and restart your server.
It’s working again, thank you. What is the issue on Plex end that results in this issue and is there anything I could have done to resolve it on my end?
There is nothing you could have done to prevent this.
It is still under investigation at th emoment. Current hypothesis is that it coincided with some cloud issues, which occured last month.
I am having the same issue, Can you please check my account?
If it’s not the cert issue or the Chrome issue, there’s also a NextDNS issue where it’s AI detection has started blocking plex.tv. Unfortunately, the start also coincided with the Cloudflare outage, so it’s all been a mess this past week.
The certificate looks alright now.
Try stopping and restarting your server.
