Recently I updated my plex server and now plex remote access keeps signing out every few minutes. even if I sign back in, which it allows me to do every time.
I have tried port forwarding port 34200 and setting my ip address manually.
I am at my wits end trying to figure this out. Can you please help.
Did you recently change your password? If so verify you don’t have any apps logging into plex with the old password like plexwatch. Logout of server app, reboot the computer, try logging back in.
I did recently change my password as plex instructed me to do.
I just changed the password in plexwatch. I cant think of anything else that would be asking for it.
Is there any way to see what is trying to access plex?
Still signing me out…
when it happened to me, i went through everything. Sab, sick, sonarr, couch, plexrequests, plexwatchweb, etc. I would be able sign in and then 5-30 min later it would sign me out and eventually it started locking out. Last one I forgot was the plexwatch base.
No I don’t think there’s anyway to tell, just trial and error. I ended up shutting everything down that connected to plex, logged out of all players too, then added stuff back after awhile.
Interesting. Yeah I have shut down everything. Wasn’t able to find a place in plexwatch that I had to sign in with… am I missing something?
Any luck? Plexwatch should have a config.pl and depending on the viewer you’re using they could have settings too. Don’t really know much about plexwatch, but for me there were settings in plexwatchweb, config.pl, and config.php.
so it seems like more than just a few people are experiencing this, myself included. I have used remote access since Plex rolled it out with no problems staying connected. my port is forwarded properly, no settings have been changed, my ISP isn’t changing my IP. So whats the deal here? do we have a fix yet?
No unfortunately I have had 0 luck with this issue.
I logged out of all the programs that could be running anything plex related.
Even went as far as to factory reset my router, thinking that might be it. Nothing is working…

Do you get an error when you go Media Manager : Settings / Server / General and sign out and sign in again?
Do you get an error when you go to plex.tv and sign in with the same user account?
If both of these error then there is an issue with the account
If only the Server Settings Sign in gives an error or if it does not but gets signed out - you could enable Debug Logging and Restart the server and then when the problem arises get a screenshot and upload here together with the Plex Media Server.log
Just updated today and now it keeps logging me out
Having the same problem here!
I have not been able to get remote access working for a few months now (not sure what version broke this), however, CanYouSeeMe.org says my port is open. In addition, as mentioned in this thread, I am finding that plex logs out periodically, however, not sure how often, my guess would be once a day.
I was optimistic that Version 0.9.12.7.1356 would address when I read:
+Manually specfied ports for remote access are sent to the cloud correctly.
However, updating to 0.9.12.7.1356 still results in same.
Plus one on logging out every day or two.

I am afraid just doing plus ones won;t help this problem getting resolved. All cases need to be investigated with debug enabled and Plex Media Server.log files covering launch of Plex Media Server (first 20 minute period say) and then later on when the problem arises - zipping all Plex Media Server.log and Plex Media Server.log.1 etc files and screenshot

Are we referring to the sign in within server settings general page?
having the same problem here, this is part of the log:

I see you changed the log extract. You will need to look for any crash dmp file created before you restart the server if it crashes and also look for the associated Plex Media Server.log and attach zip of the dmp file and the log file - but must first enable debug logging on the server.

And as this topic is specifically about Server signing itself out of plex.tv within the Settings / Server / General screen impacting Remote Access, you better raise a separate forum topic for your problem
