Logged out but cannot log back in to PMS

Server Version#: 1.21.3.4021 (Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS)
Player Version#: n/a (browser, web)
Plex Pass Subscriber

I logged out of my account from my Plex Media Server, trying to fix a remote access issue. Wouldn’t let me log back in. I’d click the “Claim Server” button and it would spin but go back to “Claim Server” without doing anything. Tried a couple things.

I followed the instructions found here: Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support

When that didn’t work, I then

  1. stopped the PMS service
  2. removed PlexOnlineToken=“” from the end of Preferences.xml
  3. shut down the physical server
  4. went to app.plex.tv and removed everything from Settings>Authorized Devices (except the browser I was on)
  5. powered the physical server back up

Still, when I went to 192.168.1.111:32400/web/, I clicked on the Library to “Claim it Now” … which took me to the server settings where the “Claim it Now” button spun and that was it. I tried one last time and got a Plex notification “There was a problem signing in to PLEX.”

Note: it says my server version is 1.21.3.4021, and that “An update is available Please install manually.” Yet when I go to download, the newest version for Intel/AMD x64 for Debian+ is indeed 1.21.3.4021.

Hopefully you have DEBUG logging enabled and VERBOSE logging disabled ?

stop plex again and manually create a tar.gz of the Logs directory and attach that file here.

Yes, I did have Debug logging without Verbose logging. I stopped Plex and pulled these logs.
logs.tar.gz (2.5 MB)

thanks. I found where it’s not working correctly.

Observe the Error code 28 which occurs here.

these are timeout errors.

The server, while having connectivity, isn’t getting replies in time.

There is something in the network / routing from server machine to internet which is misconfigured.

Until it can get to Plex.tv, Plex/web browser won’t find it.

Is there another port that I need to set up for forwarding? I recently put my AT&T Gateway into bridge mode, and am using my Apple AirPort Extreme to route all my home network traffic (including my PLEX Media Server).

You only need port 32400 for external / to access via the web.

Remote access is whichever port you decide to forward from.
