I’ve been noticing lately that when someone streams remotely (including me), that my PMS server is direct streaming when it’s supposed to be transcoding all remote streams.
i verified that i have remote bandwidth limited to 20Mbps and each stream set to 720p/4Mbps but my 1080p movies are direct streaming from the server to wherever and not auto transcoding to 720p like they used to…
anyone else seeing this?
Are your videos less than 4 Mbps? The bandwidth is the primary trigger for if a video is transcoded.
I am also seeing the same on remote streaming on any device, currently using iOS or Roku. This only began after the latest upgrade of PMS to Version 1.41.0.8994. I have not touched upload speeds or any other setting in years. I have also validated that my ISP is still set at the same upload speeds as normal, per speedtest.net.
all my movies are 1080P and greater than 4Mbps.
yeah, this seems to have happened after the last update. this was never an issue before.
now i find myself having to manually change the streaming setting to get it to work when remote… not always, but it does happen…
