I just purchased a VPN plan and I it is interfering with PLEX.
I can access PLEX from a PC not in my network, for example Im at a friends and can watch PLEX from a Chrome browser on his PC without a problem. This is while my VPN is running on my home PC where my PLEX server is.
However a Fire Stick that I previously set up at my friends (i didnt invite him, but instead I entered a code to authorize his Fire Stick) on his TV wont work.
I cant figure why one method works and the other doesnt.
Is it not possible to watch from out of my home network if my home VPN is running?
Now even on my friends PC through Chrome browser PLEX is only available in Indirect mode. After ticking the manually specify public port and trying unsuccessfully to port forward around the VPN I tried unticking it but it kept reverting to the manually specify public port. I had to make a change to the stream bitrate and save the changes to finally get the untick to take.
Apparently I will not be able to stream from my PLEX while the VPN is running.
