Remote Access not staying connected

Hi,

I’ve set up a new Windows Plex Media Server mainly for music and I can’t get Remote Access to stay stable, which is breaking Plexamp outside my LAN.

Setup

•Manual public port in Plex: 32400 •Asus router forwards TCP 32400 → 32400 to the server’s static IP 192.168.1.202

•Old Plex server in another city still works perfectly with Plexamp and Remote Access Symptoms

•Web app: I can see and use both servers with no problem. Plexamp: •Works with the new server only when I’m on the same LAN/Wi Fi.

•Works fine with the old server from anywhere. Remote Access page on the new server: •Shows “Not available outside your network.”

•If I click Retry, it briefly turns green (“Fully accessible…”) and then goes back to red after a few seconds.

Questions

1.What could cause Remote Access to flip from green to red like this even though the port forward looks correct?

2.Are there specific settings for Plexamp (Secure connections, LAN Networks, Custom server access URL) that I should change so it can reach this new server remotely like the old one?

3.What’s the recommended way to move my music ratings and playlists from the old server to this one (for example, migrating the full Plex Media Server data folder)?

Thanks for any advice.

Having this same issue. I think everyone who uses remote access is having this problem. Incredible that sometime so widespread insn’t handled in minutes. Instead it’s been days now.

Yeah, we had the same issue. We had two Plex servers, and it wouldn’t connect to the second one. After we turned off the first server, the second one started working immediately. Not sure why, but that fixed it for us.
