Had Plex running on Windows 10 (LTSC) on an old Haswell Xeon PC, moved to a 6th Gen i5 PC today, with a GTX1070 for transcoding. The new PC runs Windows 10 (20H2) instead, although I don’t think that should make a difference.
Anyway, I followed this tutorial to move Plex to the new PC.
Moved everything successfully, Plex works locally and the entire library is accessible.
Remote access refuses to work. I’ve let it automatically pick an external port to use, and it works for maybe 3 seconds before saying ‘Not available outside your network’.
In this case, I can see the UPnP entry for the port number in my router, but Plex still can’t see my server.
If I manually specify a port, and forward it, it still works for 3 seconds then says ‘Not available outside your network’ again.
I’ve rebooted the PC multiple times, and rebooted my router as well, nothing helps.
After the last reboot however, it now shows this on the remote access page:
Tip: It looks like your server may be connected to the internet through multiple routers or other network devices. Try connecting it directly to your primary device, or visit our support site for more information about troubleshooting this “Double-NAT” scenario.
I don’t have double NAT since my old Plex box worked with remote access for more than 6 months.
I pay my ISP an extra fee every month to get a real public IP address and I can confirm that is still the case now. If I try hosting any other service on this PC, it is accessible remotely, but Plex doesn’t work.
I’ve gone crazy trying different things but nothing seems to help.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
