Remote Access not working

Hey guys,

I am new to the forum. I recently installed a Mikrotik router in my home. Everything seems to be working great except the Remote Access feature on my Plex Media Server won’t work any longer. I have literally spent hours trying to troubleshoot the issue. Apparently it is a Port Forwarding problem. However, when I try and add the NAT rule, it still doesn’t work. I have turned off and on the UPnP and nothing happened, tried making the computer IP address static, and also changed the settings on the Windows 10 firewall. None of these things worked. When I toggle the Remote Access on in the PMS settings, it stays green for 5-10 seconds and then says the connection was lost. I’ve literally spent 20 or more hours trying to figure this out.

Any help would be appreciated

I am still having this issue. I recently installed a Mikrotik router in my home. Everything seems to be working great except the Remote Access feature on my Plex Media Server won’t work any longer. Do you have a screenshot of your port forward/NAT rule that is setup? Most likely that is wrong.

You want the dst port to be 32400 as opposed to the src port.

Just switched that, but it didn’t work. When i enable Remote access, it shows that it is successful for 5 or so seconds, then fails again.

Do I need to make that IP address Static under the Lease tab? Any other ideas?

I’m not as familiar with that router setup but I normally make my Plex Server a Static IP or a DHCP Reservation so it never changes.

Is your router 192.168.88.1? You normally make a port forward to the IP of the Plex server so my router 192.168.1.1 and my plex is 192.168.1.30 so my port forward is to 192.168.1.30 on TCP 32400.

Appreciate at the advice, I am kind of at a loss here. Do you think it has anything to do with Adapter Settings-> Internet Protocol Version on the computer itself? Currently, i have the IP address obtained automatically. Even when i change it to Manual however, it still doesn’t work.

Figured it out:

The below, simple port forwarding instructions, worked for me 30 seconds:
