Remote access not working

My 2 servers lost remote access last night. Nothing changed on my end.

Using a static IP, port 32401 is opened for external and 32402 for second server and 32400 for internal port for both. Been working fine for 2 years now and last night it stopped. Video is just on buffering mode, doesn’t start. I do get a notification via Tautulli that a movie started but nothing happens.

Server 1: Unraid
Server 2: Proxmox VM; Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 LTS

I have lifetime plex pass.

I have uptime Kuma monitoring the ports and they’re pinging fine.

Few other members are experiencing the same, is this a user error or plex?

I‘m not aware of a general problem. Just the „usual“ issues with users trying to force unnecessarily complex network setups or ISPs switching to CGNAT / filtering traffic.

Can you still see your manual forwarded ports from outside your home network (e.g. using a service like canyouseeme.org)?

Network is simple on my end.

I pay for static IP cuz my isp has CGnat. I have the ports opened correctly. Picture above shows that plex is accessible but videos won’t play anymore . Last night it showed that it was accessible at all. This morning it changed to accessible but no video playback.

And yes I can see the ports opened

I use AT&T Fiber and it has worked flawless up until about 3 days ago. I run on a dedicated static WAN ip address so I have a fully open address. I no longer can access my server outside my network. Remote functions do not work. I’ve tried just about everything with the port. I can only conclude my ISP is throttling me or blocked the port. Port checkers confirm its closed.

In that case you might want to reach out to your ISP as for why they might be blocking your port. If you feel like it, you could try forwarding some other ports (either some outlandish ones or common ones like 80 or 8080) – just to test if they might be blocking the specific port you chose for Plex.

“Accessible” as the status indicator saying remote access is ok – or you actually accessing your server remotely (browsing libraries etc.)?
As for no video playback … do you get an error message, some timeout or how does it fail to play?

I already messed around with different ports. No change. I had AT&T come out after 5 hours on the phone with tech support. They concluded they are not port blocking or throttling me. They sent a technician out to swap my AT&T gateway, no difference. I have static WAN IP addresses with AT&T so I have open access to the internet. I’ve had this server going for 6 years and this just became an issue on 4/24. No rhyme or reason. I have exhausted just about everything I can including testing a different machine with a fresh linux mint install with plex server to test. Same exact results.

I am attaching what it looks like. At this point I’ve deduced this isn’t a hardware issue on the server, a gateway failure, an ISP failure. Not sure what else to do. I am thinking maybe this is a software issue?

Same here! Stopped working 2 days ago. Only plex web works

sounds like the same issue from other posts in this sub. Remote access has stopped working since the latest update.

nao estou conseguindo assistir remotamente tambem, apos o aplicativo do celular atualizar a nova inteface nao consigo assistir nada ja no tablet que tem o app antigo assisto tudo traquilo.
uso um servidor TerraMaster. Quando vai ter um aualizacao para resolver isso ??

Can someone try and revert to the previous version of PMS and see if remote access comes back???

My remote access seems to only be affected for the app. Ever since the new app interface came in, I’ve lost the ability to stream to my phone when I’m not in the same network. However, if I log into the web browser and the app, then it works as expected. I’m not so sure that it’s a remote access issue as it is just a terrible app issue l.
